Mastodon

I found a new addiction by the name of Mastodon....




Their new album Blood Mountain is hands down one of my favorite releases of 06' and I love this video. Here is a quick little review I came up with:

"Their main sound has been set in the perfect directions, rocking grooving riffs with dreamy soundscapes and goosebump arousing headbangriffs, accompanied by the busiest groove-drumming ever. The album still has the aggressive metallic feel that gives them their edge but what makes this album is the drumming. Hands down the best drumming I've heard out of any band or album this year. The albums real exception over current metal, hardcore, and rock bands is the more structured stoner-like sound.Something it has over their previous albums, which is nice to hear since everything is has a punk or metal swedish influence. More bands need to be putting out quality albums like this, it's a breath of fresh air."

I would love to take time to review this entire album in detail but I have better things to do like study. Speaking of 06' I need to put together the annual "Best of..." albums of the past year. I always told myself I would up date this thing alot more often but seems like I never have time.

Be prepared for some future posts that finally don't relate to music for a change.
I know I'm ready for a change.
